Global Gourmet is located in Vadodara (western part of India) in the state of Gujarat and is well connected to the rest of India. The state has adequate resources like quality farmlands, water, industrial infrastructure, ports and skilled human resources. Gujarat’s climate of hot dry weather and plenty of rainfall during monsoon is best suited for the growth of tropical vegetables, grains, pulses, seeds and berries. Vadodara region is the green belt of the west, which produces high quality of fresh vegetables and herbs with good farming practices. Onions are grown in only two states of India and Gujarat is one of them. Gujarat is also one of the largest growers of Potatoes, which allows us to source fresh onions and potatoes for our Samosas, Bhajis and Pakoras.
Key ingredients that flavor our foods, such as Coriander, Ginger, Garlic, Lime and Curry leaf are procured fresh and on a daily basis. Gujarat is also the largest producer of Gram Lentils and Chickpea; hence, best processing units and flour mills are nearby. Spices such as Turmeric, Coriander Seeds, Cumin and Chilies are grown in abundance. In order to source the highest quality of spices, we buy them in the peak season and store them with our spice millers. Other spices like Pepper, Clove, Cinnamon, Peppercorns and Cardamom, although grown in the hills of Southern India, are brought to Gujarat as its climate is suitable for drying them. As a result, we have quality spice processing facilities which supply Global Gourmet freshly ground spices on an almost daily basis.
